I bugged out my eyes.
I faked a big cry.
I stuck out my tongue. I scrunched up my nose.
“Stop!” cried the mirror, “That’s as far as this goes.”
“I’ve had enough”—he went on to say—
“of being stuck behind glass while others go play.
There’s a world outside that I want to explore.”
Then the face in the mirror walked straight out the door.
